the one with the clay bird

hey there everyone!

I'm so sorry I haven't blogged in a while, once school and my new internship started up, I've been going non-stop.

So here's what I've been up to!

This quarter, I've got a six hour class. Yes, thats right, six (6) hour class. It's called Materials and Props and we were given tool boxes. This class is kind of an intro class to another 6 hour lab I'll have next quarter for Window Displays.

Another class I'm taking this quarter, is Business Marketing for Social Media.

For my Materials and Props class, I had to paint textures. So above, we've got sky, marble, granite and wood.

On Thursday before class, I helped out at a video shoot for Chriselle Lim of the Chriselle Factor. She's collaborating with EsteĆ© Lauder and Carly and I were able to help out on set.

Chriselle's office is in Downtown LA, so it was very easy for Carly and I to get to. It was beautiful.

In Materials and Props class, we were working with moldings, I got bored so I made a birdy.

And now for some great announcements!
Above is a picture Carly snapped of me yesterday at our internship.

We've got an internship with Kageh Inc., a fashion app to end all fashion apps. Though it’s still in production, it’s gonna be big.
This app is the best of instagram, lookbook, tumblr and then some.  Kageh will allow you to scroll through looks upon looks from influencers around the world, and with one simple swipe, their outfit is broken down from head-to-toe.
Love those shoes that The Blonde Salad is wearing?
That bag that Fashion Toast has over her shoulder?
Kageh will tell you the designer, the price, and give you a link directly to it.
I’m heading up the Social Media for Kageh Inc. and I would absolutely love it if you followed us!

thanks so much for stopping by!

the one with everything

hey every one!

sorry for my unintentional hiatus, when I arrived back in LA after New York, everything happened at once- school was overwhelming.

so here's some photo recap:
Carly & I went to LACMA to view the DVF Journey of a Dress Exhibit

Molly Kayla and I visited Gladstones in Malibu for dinner one Friday evening- it was right on the beach and we were able to catch the sunset:

But school was never far off. Below is a picture of my Critical Concepts Final. We had to create a pop-up-shop for Banana Republic based on different places around the world.

And before I hopped back on a plane to Brownsville- I brought some copies of the Mode Magazine to give to family & friends.

And with my 3rd quarter at FIDM over, I'm now officially a sophomore in college, and have one year left for my Associates in Visual Communications.
I've learned so much, and met so many incredible people since I started FIDM, and I can truly say that I am so happy.

Oh! Another milestone occoured since my last post! I've moved!
Same building, just a few floors up. I moved out of Student Housing, and moved into an apartment independently with two of my best friends, Molly and Kayla.
We moved all of our belongings in 7 hours, all by ourselves. Mind you- this includes several pieces of furniture and over 200 pairs of shoes combined. Not that we counted or anything...

The next day, we put together several pieces of Ikea furniture, which is, as anyone would tell you, the true test of friendship.

And its not like we did that the weekend of Finals or anything.
I don't have any good pictures yet, but I'll get some soon!

Here are some things I learned:
1. Remember where you put everything to make coffee the next morning. I didn't.
2. Remember where you put your laptop charger. I didn't.
3. The big blue reusable bag from Ikea is the best 60 cents you ever spend.
4. You're going to be sore. It's inevitable.
5. Injuries and bruises will happen- be prepared.

I also lived through my first earthquake!
It was 6am on a Monday morning- neither Molly or I had a morning class- and it felt like someone was shaking my mattress.
Molly and I groggily asked each other, "Did you feel that?"
After taking to twitter, I confirmed that it was in fact an earthquake, and we didn't just share a dream.
We walked through the apartment to see if everything was okay, then we went straight back to sleep.

Update: I've decided that airplane turbulence in the air is like an earthquake on land. Just incase you were wondering.

Anyways, one 5am wakeup call and two flights later, I was home. I origionally didn't plan on going home until summer, as I wanted to spend my spring break in Los Angeles. After over nine months of living in LA, I've only ever been here while in school.
So I compromised, I went home for half of my break.
I was able to do some of my favorite things to do while in Brownsville: see my family and eat.

And just like that, I'm back in Los Angeles.

Diddy Riese. Ice Cream. Two Cookies. $1.25.  Priceless.

And there you go!
Hope you enjoyed!
