the one with long picture captions

Hello there, everyone! It's been a while, I know! I'm sorry! Time has literally flown by, it's crazy. I'm three weeks away from completing my first quarter here at FIDM! I'm already looking into the classes I'm going to take next quarter.

If all goes as planned, and I don't take any time off- I'll graduate from FIDM December 2014 with an AA in Visual Communications.

Anyway- since I've been gone, a lot has happened. Here's some pictures to catch you up:

On Thursday August 8th, I attended the Stylist Workshop at FIDM as a model for the Baroque Team. That's what I looked like. & let me tell you- that white face paint was a bitch to get off.

Because I attended the Stylist Workshop, I was able to participate in the FIDM MODE photo shoot Saturday the 10th. We shot at a gorgeous church by USC. The pictures are going to appear in the magazine! Here I am with my gorgeous fellow model, Ali.

After the photoshoot on Saturday, I got home, showered, ate, got ready and went to the Staples Center with my roommate Amari. We got free tickets to the One Direction Concert. It was so much fun, and we ended up making some new friends. (L-R: Me, Amari, Dulcie, Noah & Audrey)

That next Monday, we were able to go to the Staples Center once again to watch a WMBA game. Yay sports!

If you ever want to see something funny- watch me try to use chopsticks. Seriously.
After class on Thursday, the girls pictured above & I went to a Japanese Fondant restaurant. It was definitely an experience.

This past Sunday Funday, Amari Molly and I made the treacherous journey on Los Angeles public transportation to The Grove. We shopped. A lot. Then we had parmesan french-fries for dinner at The Counter in DTLA, then we went home and watched the VMA's aka JT's concert feat. N*sync & people handing out awards and Hannah Montana-gone-wild. Poor foam finger...

nineteen

Not only have I been living in Los Angeles for a few days over a month now- but I turned 19 on Saturday!

To say this past month has flown by would be an understatement. I swear- I blinked. Living in DTLA is amazing. This past week, my roommates and I have ventured out into the city a bit more on our own. For example, on my birthday, Molly and I went on the metro for the first time to go to the FIDM Mode launch party at the Lorenzo- a student apartment complex near USC.

We ended up missing our stop by one- and walked back.

To celebrate my birthday, we decided against going to a club- but instead went out to dinner in Hollywood- which required another trip on the metro. We went from Downtown to Hollywood & Vine and ate - ironically- at a Mexican food restaurant. Go figure.

After dinner we ended up finding the club- Level 3- that we had considered going to. At least now we know where it is & how to get there.

We also went to the Chinese Grauman Theater & acted like tourists.

This past month has been incredible and I'm looking foreword to many more. It's crazy how my roommates have become my best friends so quickly. I'm truly blessed.
