the one with my favorite things

hey there everyone- a little something different for today. I want to share with you all what I've been loving this past month.

September is the start of the fashion calendar, so I thought it would be appropriate to start my favorites in September.

FASHION

You might be wondering- the start of the Fashion Calendar? Silly Hannah, the calendar starts in January. Duhhh.

Well yes, that's very true. However, the September Fashion week shows Spring/Summer collections for the next year, therefore, making it the the January of Fashion. Haven't you ever noticed that the September Issues of magazines are the thickest?

Boom.

There are fashion weeks in New York, Milan, London, and Paris.

So here are some of my favorite looks from NY, Milan and London. Because Paris Fashion Weeks is underway at the moment- I'll update my favorites for that soon.

NEW YORK FW

Rachel Zoe SS14

 Zac Posen SS14

MILAN FW

Dolce & Gabanna SS14

 Dsquared2 SS14

LONDON FW

 Tom Ford SS 14

Burberry Prosum SS14

BEAUTY

Something else that I've been loving- though I was hesitant to try at first- are the Neon Baby Lips from Maybelline.

I love the original Baby Lips. Best lip balm ever. Though my roommate Molly would disagree. She swears by the ones that are shaped like an egg. Meh.

here's the ones that I have:

Oh! Orange, Pink Shock, Berry Bomb

They look extremely bright, extremely neon and extremely intimidating. But they go on your lips like the original Baby Lips, and have really sheer coverage- just a hint of the color.

So if you want to try and orange lip- which is a HUUUGE trend for Spring/Summer 14, try the Baby Lips Oh! Orange! You'll love it.

MUSIC

Thanks to Kayla, I'm now officially a HUGE fan of The 1975. A british boy band, but no, nothing like 1D. They have and Indie Rock kinda feel, and will have you putting they're album on repeat.

Here's my favorite song:

Also. What does the fox say?

And finally, if you fancy yourself a laugh- check out Rick Owens SS14 show. Just google it. Trust me.

the one with the surprise

Hello there everyone!
Well, I've been keeping this a secret for about two months now.
I'm in Brownsville, Texas! That's right everyone- I'm home for my quarter break!
I flew in from LAX to Houston and Houston to Harlingen on Thursday!

On Friday I was able to get ombré! (pictures below)
Saturday I was able to surprise Kelsey! She had no idea I was in town- you should have seen her face! We spent the day together catching up.
Sunday I surprised everyone at church, and I was able to hang out with family. That evening, family dinner with my Dad's side of the family.
Monday, I hung out with my mom and went to surprise everyone at St. Joe.
Tuesday I went up to work with my moma, just like old times. Tuesday night, I went out to the movies with Queen Ali, and then we had Ultimo Taco.

So there's a run-down of my week.
It's crazy being back home. I was in Los Angles for over 2 1/2 months, but back here- it felt like I had never left.
However normal it seems, though- it all feels different. I'm so used to the blank walls of my apartment, and the carpet and my bed risers.
Coming home- there was so much stuff on the walls. And the wood floors in my bedroom looked so dark. And with out bed risers, it looked as if I could accidentally trip over my bed or something.

And craziest of all is waking up and seeing my family, not my roommates.
This is the longest my roommates & I have been apart & I miss them so much.
My friends too!

Another crazy thing is this Brownsville weather. Which I have NOT missed in the slightest.
Getting of the plane in Houston- first off I could SEE the humidity from the window. Secondly, I walked out of the plane and nearly drowned, it was so humid.

I want my SoCal weather back.

So here's a photo diary of my last couple days in Brown Town.

So, hope you all enjoyed my post, & my surprise!
I should be shooting some more lookbook looks here in Brownsville with my brother, Noah.
And for some reason the picture I took of my tacos last night isn't showing up on my laptop- so I'll post that soon too. If you're wondering why I want to post a picture of my tacos, it's because, believe it or not, some people think that Chipotle is what Mexican food looks like. Sad.

So leave a comment in the box below & tell me what you think of my lookbook look or just say hi!

Lots of love, Hannahxx

the one with all the hype

hello again!
I've got a new lookbook post to share with you all!
This is another one I shot with Carly & Brandon this past Sunday.
So, we planned on changing in and out of outfits in the FIDM bathrooms.
Fun Fact: FIDM is closed around 3ish on a Sunday.
Fun Fact No. 2: changing in a car is difficult.

The outfit I'm going to share with you all today is actually one that I've already worn. That's right everybody! I'm an outfit repeater.

But ONLY for the sake of a good picture.

So here it is!

Fun Fact No. 3: I got that blouse for $8 at the FIDM Scholarship Store.

If you're wondering about the post's title,
This look on lookbook has gotten 78 hype -which can be compared to 'likes' on fb- and that's the most I've gotten so far!

And boy- have I got a surprise for all of you! Coming soon! :)

leave some love, tell me what you think!

the one with "pool", sushi and a hipster party

Hello there, everybody!
Good week this week. Finals are stressful! But, as of yesterday afternoon- I'm officially done with my first quarter of FIDM! Time flies.
Thursday was my last day of Ideation Sketching at Survey of Vcom- got A's in both classes! Then, I had sushi for the first time!
Then, Carly took me to a Love Nail Tree event. It was super hipster- in the Art's District. It was really awesome. And also, food trucks are quite yummy.
Then I did homework all day Friday, finished everything for my Monday classes.
Saturday I went to Hollywood with Molly. We had Crumbs Cupcakes (better than sprinkles! there! I said it!) and people watched.
Sunday, I studied for my Western Art Final and did some lookbook shoots with Carly and her friend Brandon.
Monday, my final day of classes went well! All done! Then I had an interview with the FIDM Mode, I applied to be Fashion Editor or Fashion Editor's Assistant.

So, here's my new lookbook look! & a photo diary!

the one with the striped pants

hey there everyone! I've got good news- I've fixed the comment box, so now you can publish comments anonymously instead of having a google + account or whatever it was asking for!

these past few days have actually been pretty eventful! After posting on Friday, I got to work on my Survey of Vcom final- I'll share a picture soon. Anyways, I get a text from Chelsey Gloor -who's also living out here in LA- wanting to know if I wanted to catch dinner, so she came and picked me up, we went to The Counter here in DTLA, then to Beverly Hills to use the Sprinkles Cupcake ATM, which was totally awesome. Then we strolled down Hollywood Blvd and people watched at Coffee Bean. It was so much fun. It was great to be able to talk to someone about the weird quirky differences between LA and back home.

Then Saturday, my roommate Amari, her boyfriend Trey, and I went to LACMA- The LA County Museum of Art. Both Amari and I had to go for class. It was huge and really amazing. I forgot how much I love art museums.
We catch the bus home, I worked some more on my VCom final project, then I get a text from Kayla. Dinner and a movie? I think yes.
We went out to eat at the Panini Cafe (student discounts for life) and went to go see the One Direction Movie, which, by the way, was absolutely amazing Harry Styles marry me I mean what?

But the best news of all- I've got another lookbook post to share with you lovely folks!
